I was pondering over a famous Dua (supplication) that the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) used to say at times of anxiety or sorrow, and I realised how wonderful this dua is for Productive Muslims everywhere.
If we look at all the six elements that the Dua above is asking Allah for refuge from, we would realise that all of them are anti-Productivity elements that if removed from our lives we can move forward much quicker and be more productive. Allahumma amin :)
A deserted man holding on to a wooden board in the middle of the sea being tossed to and fro by waves is not in any more need of Allāh than you are, sitting where you are.

String.
Every night
We lay our heads down
We get comfortable
And we sleep.
Little do we know of the complexities:
Our soul is removed from our body
Yet remains on a string, loosely hanging,
Your life determined by a thread,
This could be your moment,
Your last breath, as the soul is let go Allah may just will it.
Our lives are our souls,
We are just hanging on some string
Drifting from side to side
Searching for the right path.
A sigh of relief is breathed as we wake for another day,
Trying to earn His pleasure,
May He accept our efforts.
Temporary are these bodies of ours
Moulded to every last detail.
I only pray that when my string is cut loose I return home,
where a Believer yearns to be,
And I get to see His face.
The Almighty, the Magnificent.
